Scribo Ergo Sum desires as many comments as possible. Unbelievable though this may seem we actually covet your view. Nothing would bring us more joy than you responding to any (or many, preferably) of the articles you read here. We don’t even care much if it’s ill considered, rushed, brusque or harsh. If you think we’re writing tripe it’s best we know. If you’re on a tight schedule we’d rather have half a sentence than none. We wish to hear from you.
Towards this end we have no comment moderation in place and a policy of minimal restraint upon debate.
Although these rules will be amended should we attract any Major Annoyances for the time being they are:
- Anything illegal will be removed to stop Ali getting arrested.
- All references to the most irritating elements of the “Decent Left” and their abodes will be deleted ruthlessly. At present this includes: Ol*ver K*mm, H*rry’s Pl*ce and St*ph*n P*ll*rd but is not limited to these. This rule is both the most flexible and firmly enforced. This is an unfortunate restraint upon free debate, but that sort truly are too irritating to bear.
- Our spam-filter is blind. It’ll hold up any post with a link in it for moderation - even though it might not be spam. Irritating, we know, but it’s better there’s a short delay on a few good comments than us having to wade through thousands of penis-extension ads every hour or so. If you find your comment hasn’t appeared first time because of that, please don’t worry as it’ll appear soon anyway.
- SES suggests that anyone offended by our comments section consider the Stoics.
- Don’t feed the trolls.
Besides this, you are free. Whether you are a Stalinist or Objectivist all input is welcome and embraced. No rational or irrational argument will be rejected and we aspire towards some form of community existing within the comments section. All assistance towards this aim is deeply appreciated.
