London Election - Ward by Ward
From Luke Akehurst comes the interesting little map below. Lynton Crosby’s strategy worked. Entirely:

Now, have a look at this map of Londoners on income support by ward (based on a screenshot ripped off from The Poverty Site. Apologies for the rough border, which is occasionally in the wrong place…). Remember, the deeper the red, the higher the percentage on income support.
Notice any correlation between the two? That’s right - areas with large proportions of people on income support, and in danger of poverty, didn’t trust Boris to run the City in general. With good reason, in hindsight…
EDIT: Formatting not as I’d desire. But clearly, I can’t have it all with that tonight…

Am I right in thinking that also the deeper the blue, the higher proportion on income support? Cos there’s a lot of deep blue areas on that there map.
Are you referring to the areas marked as voting strongly for Boris on the voting map which also have high proportions on income support? They do exist - although that’s possibly magnified by the cack-handed fashion in which I marked out parts of the second map. Even with that in mind though, the degree to which they’re outnumbered by Red/Income support areas is somewhat telling, I feel…
Although, of course, I’m probably making a point out of nothing. I don’t have exact figures, certainly. But it caught my eye…
