Bail-Outs, Elite & $700 billion
Of all the writers on this matter it is only Glenn Greenwald who has truly presented the Washington reaction to the banking crisis in a fashion which I can grasp properly and grow enraged over. The lack of debate which has surrounded a sum as vast a trillion seems to have been minimal and the implications are simply impossible to predict.
Let us hope that the outcome is benign. By this stage that’s about all that we can do.
